G-Day for the Books

Anybody who knows me, knows that I am a die hard Georgia Football fan. I bleed red and black and I live for Saturdays between the hedges! Nothing is more important to me in the Fall than Georgia Football! Too bad I'm graduating, right? No more cheap tickets, no more gauranteed amazing seating, no more carefree roaming the campus as a "drunk obnoxious Georgia fan". Fortunately for me, I was able to end my Georgia Football experience as a student with a bang, thanks to coach Kirby Smart and and unforgettable 93k day. Never in 4 years, have I seen Sanford Stadium rock like that for our annual spring game/G-Day. It was truly an amazing experience. It felt like a fresh start for Georgia Football after a disappointing previous season. Georgia Football feels revived and alive (kind of like it was my freshman year)!

UGA's marketing team did amazing job of portraying the game as an event that you just couldn't miss. They did this by honing in and focusing on a few aspects of the fun filled day. Those things included: new Head Coach- Kirby Smart, new quarterback- Jacob Eason, and rapper- Ludacris!

Kirby Smart, former Defensive Coordinator the University of Alabama is now our head coach. Huge deal! Kirby Smart is a former Bulldog and former coach of a championship winning team. Expectations are set extremely high for him and everybody can't wait to see what he does for Georgia Football. The idea of a sneak peak of Kirby Smart's work drove fans crazy this weekend, which contributed to the flood in Sanford Stadium.

Jacob Eason, top recruit is now here at Georgia and he's ready to show off exactly why he was so heavily recruited. We haven't really seen a good quarterback since Aaron Murray and we all know a good football team starts with a good coach and a great quarterback. Fans were also equally eager to finally watch Jacob Eason in action!

I haven't seen a performer in Sanford Stadium on a game day since....well actually I've never seen a performer in Sanford Stadium on a game day! The idea of a performance gave G-Day an added anticipated element that hadn't been present in a while. The speculation all over social media of a performer came about early on in the week, but no one really knew for sure until literally the last minute. Although rapper Ludacris, isn't the hottest artist out right now, I think he was a great choice. He is an Atlanta legend, an avid supporter of Georgia sports, and pretty well-known amongst the diverse game day crowd.

Overall, G-Day/93k Day was one of the best days in Sanford Stadium of my college career. Thank you Georgia Football and Kirby Smart for really taking it there!

Staying Fit With IG

Since January, I’ve been on a health kick! I work out multiple times a week and I try my best to eat healthy (although, I’m not going to lie, it’s been way harder than I anticipated). At first I started because I wanted that awesome spring break body for my senior spring break, but then I noticed that the benefits of staying healthy were far better than a great body for only a week.

However, since I’m a college student and staying healthy is quite expensive, I was forced to find ways to improvise, so I did that with Instagram’s help. No trainer? No problem, I followed multiple Instagram pages that provide countless workouts and even some full workout plans. Along with the workout pages, I followed multiple healthy food accounts. All of these follows have been very helpful. Although I feel a little crazy double checking Instagram in the gym before I start a workout, it works for me! I'm going to share a few of my favorites:

Fitness model @bundleofbrittany (Brittany Renner) became an instant Instagram sensation when everyone caught a glimpse of her banging, all natural body. If for nothing else, I follow her for inspiration. Every once in a while, she posts workouts and other health secrets that have helped her obtain the body that all of Instagram glorifies.

@buttworkoutvids is my absolute favorite! It pretty much speaks for itself; I mean everyone wants a great butt, right? This is the page that sometimes has me looking like an unproductive weirdo in the gym (right before I start KILLING it!) It has tons of workouts that definitely make you feel the burn if done right. The video show women utilizing equipment in ways I guaruntee you've never thought about before.

If you're looking for a bomb healthy chef to follow, Ayesha Curry may be your gal! She posts tons of delicious recipes that are super healthy and easy to make. Recently, she's come out with a cook book. I can't wait to make that purchase; I'm sure it won't disappoint.
